Structured Learning Path for Professional Growth

The curriculum balances technical skill development with creative exploration. Each week builds on previous knowledge while introducing new concepts that challenge conventional approaches to floral design.

Weeks 1-3

Foundation & Color Theory

We start with reconsidering the basics—how stems interact structurally, why certain flowers behave differently in arrangements, and developing a personal approach to color selection that goes beyond following trends.

Weeks 4-6

Seasonal Design & Sourcing

Working with what's actually available rather than forcing imported materials. You'll learn to build relationships with local growers and develop designs that reflect genuine seasonality instead of catalog imitations.

Weeks 7-9

Event-Scale Installations

Moving beyond table arrangements to understand structural requirements for arches, hanging installations, and large-scale displays. This includes practical discussions about pricing, logistics, and setting realistic client expectations.

Weeks 10-12

Portfolio Development

Creating a cohesive body of work that represents your actual capabilities. We focus on photographing arrangements properly and presenting your style in ways that attract clients who appreciate your specific approach.

Who Teaches This Program

Both instructors work actively in the industry and bring current perspectives on running a floristry practice in today's market.

Elowen Pritchard

Structural Design Specialist

Elowen spent eight years working with event production companies before starting her own studio. She's particularly interested in how florals interact with architectural spaces and has developed methods for creating installations that don't require excessive mechanics or support structures.

Saskia Vermeer

Seasonal & Sustainable Practices

After managing flower procurement for a luxury hotel group, Saskia shifted focus to teaching sustainable sourcing approaches. She maintains relationships with growers across the region and helps students understand the actual supply chain behind the flowers they use.

I came in thinking I knew floristry because I'd done weddings for friends. The program showed me how much I didn't understand about structural mechanics and proper pricing. Three months after finishing, I landed my first corporate installation contract—something I wouldn't have felt equipped to handle before.
